« For those on PC, it’s worthwhile to run the Benchmark to see how your game’s performance changes depending on some settings. Some people may have different preferences between different sharpening methods based on the visuals, but it’s hard to know the actual performance difference involved… And not just the average frame rate, but the 5% and 1% lows, too!
An example in my case is the difference between DLSS on Quality (82 Sharpness) and Fidelity FX CAS (60 sharpness): the DLSS average frame rate was 224, and the Fidelity FX was 223… Not a huge difference until you look at the 1% lows which were 155 and 138 respectively.
I prefer the visuals of Fidelity FX, and at first glance the difference of 1 FPS on average is within margin of error… But a 1% low that is 17 FPS lower? Well, that will impact how smooth the game feels in the most intense situations, which for some people may be a big deal! »
