What is Foie Gras? (fwah – grah), you ask? Foie gras is a delicacy from France that is now consumed all over the world. Foie gras means « fatty liver’ in french and is produced by force-feeding ducks and geese large quantities of food until their livers grow to an abnormally large size!
We are basically giving them a liver disease and then people pay lots of money to eat the liver. Somebody called me crazy when I was filming this…isn’t it more crazy to inflict this kind of suffering to 700,000 geese and 37 million ducks every year?
