The Scotsman said, “He creates wonderlands of weird”, The Times said he is ‘mind-bending’ and Three Weeks said, “it was a terrifying ordeal performed by a man in a duck mask”. Whatever your views, we have lived through ‘Twonkey’s Cottage’, ‘Castle’, ‘Kingdom’, ‘Blue Cadabra’, ‘Private Restaurant’, ‘Stinking Bishop’, ‘Mumbo Jumbo Hotel’, ‘Christmas in the Jungle’, ‘Night Train To Liechtenstein’, and now…. This brand new hour features Twonkey’s horrible manager Mr. Pines and Leonardo Da Vinci’s landlady Linda Lumps amongst other characters, punctuated with original physical comedy and several ditties. ‘Twonkey’s Ten Year Twitch’ is about a grotesque cake decorating shop in the Dordogne that has been secretly making fake weather since 1982. Last week he knocked on the door licking his lips in anticipation. The shopkeeper opened the door, a tiny woman who was all baggy eyed with a hard miserable face and fast little legs appeared. He had made a horrible mistake and could not turn back! Come to the show and to find out what happened to Twonkey next….
Mr Twonkey is Paul Vickers who was the vocalist and lyricist with cult rock band Dawn of the Replicants. After the group went on indefinite hiatus in 2007, he continued to release music with various collaborators before branching into comedy! Since 2010 he has performed shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe as Mr. Twonkey. He has also released three albums with Edinburgh band The Leg. In 2013 he published his first book, Itchy Grumble, and in 2015 his first theatrical play Jennifer’s Robot Arm debuted in London.
